Electricians are responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, installing, and modifying electrical components and systems. Electricians complete an electrician program at a trade school or technical institute, finish an apprenticeship and will need to pass a licensing exam. Industrial Electricians are responsible for installing and maintaining electrical systems in industrial facilities and factories. They typically work in places that use power and electrical systems. They make sure that electrical systems are safe, running efficiently and responsible for repairing giant electrical equipment such as industrial fans and giant motors. Their duties involve browsing blueprints, follow diagrams of circuits and wiring and use many various hand and diagnostic tools in testing and fixing equipment. They must obtain an electrician license.
The Electrician Apprenticeship learns their trade under a skilled electrician. They typically work in public or private sectors, learn how to use equipment, read blueprints and work with construction crew. They also attend regular classes as part of their training.
Commercial Electricians are responsible for installing and maintaining the electrical devices in commercial buildings. Electricians receive training through an associate’s degree or apprenticeship program. They must obtain an electrician license (Journeyman 309A) in order to do any electrical installation.
